Itinerary
Day 1:
Arrive at Arturo Benitez Airport in Santiago. Private transfer from the Airport to your hotel. Most flights arrive in the morning so you should have plenty of time as well as a bit of reserve energy to enjoy a half-day tour of Santiago. Welcome cocktails will be served at the hotel tonight. You will be staying in the exclusive area of Providencia and Las Condes. Here you will find several giant and modern malls, movie complexes with movies in English, posh reataurants, pubs, shops and a clean modern subway system. The first night is a free night to either rest or to take in some of the sites and sounds of Santiago.
Day 2:
After the morning breakfast (included), our scheduled half-day seminar will begin. At this time you will learn the nuts-and bolts of Investing, Retiring or Relocating to Chile. Here you will be introduced to Chilean banking, business and real estate professionals who can answer your questions about incorporating, investing, visas, buying and owning Chilean real estate, as well as moving, retirement and the tax structure in Chile. This information-packed Seminar will introduce you to the infrastructure of Chilean business investing, relocation and/or retirement. After this informative seminar we will board our bus to Zapallar. Zapallar is one of “the” chic upscale resort areas in Chile and is considered to have some of the most incredible beach areas to be found in Chile. You will see this for yourself as you view the clean, glittering, white sand beaches that seem to rise and meet beautiful green mountain forests. You will be spending the night in a very nice hotel in Zapallar.
Day 3:
We breakfast in Zapallar, then are off to tour one of the planned communities which is complete with a golf course. This development is located on the bluffs above the Pacific Ocean. Think Coastal California with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean but the price tags are a fraction of the cost of a similar community in California! This totally modern development, replete with every amenity is even considerably less expensive to own than a condo in coastal Mexico! Wow, this is pretty hard to beat!
On this day we will all take the time to enjoy the luxurious surroundings at this relaxing resort. You canchoose your activity, play a round of golf, relax on the beach with a book or even swim in the pollution-free (in this country, anyway) Pacific Ocean. Remember, this resort has private beach access! Perhaps you will want to play tennis, enjoy a spa treatment or simlpy sit by the pool and catch a snooze in some warm Chilean sunshine.
Tonight you may enjoy Zapallar at your leisure, perhaps with some new Chilean friends you may have met at the resort. Most Chilean business people and those educated at the universities here in Chile, speak English and are genuinely curious about travellers from other countries. They take considerable pride in the technological and other advances Chile has made as a country and they love to meet new people. You might decide to sample some of the world’s best and freshest seafood delicacies tonight, along with a fine bottle of Chilean Chardonnay. Most people are not even aware that Chile has been producing great wines since the 1500′s. Chile is hardly a new up-start wine region. A very nice bottle of your favorite varietal will run only $5-$12 US. THIS is the life!
Day 4:
After breakfast, you will be escorted to another nearby all-inclusive resort with 27 holes of golf, tennis facilities, a spa, swimming pools and a private beach. This Resort also overlooks the Pacific Ocean and includes a beautiful Five-Star hotel. Lunch will be included today for all of our guests. We will be afforded a grand tour of this wonderful resort where you will be shown a combination of Ocean View Condos as well as build-able golf course parcels just waiting for a custom built home in Chile. Yours perhaps? This evening we will return to our Santiago Hotel where we have arranged a typical Chilean dinner and will be joined by several of our Chilean friends!
Day 5:
After breakfast we will all get together for our trip to the Santiago Airport. You will board the flight to Temuco and from there we will transport you to the Andean foothills and the lakeside resort town of Pucon. The rest of the day you will be free to explore Pucon, take one of several available excursions, relax on the black sand beach of Lago Villarrica or possibly try your hand at some games of chance at the Hotel Del Lago’s Casino. Remember, this is Summertime in Pucon and the town literally buzzes all night long! You will find people out and about well into the wee morning hours, sipping a coffee or having an ice cream at one of the many sidewalk cafes.
Day 6:
A buffet breakfast at your hotel will be available and then you will board our private shuttle to Lago Caburgua for a bit of sightseeing in the countryside of the beautiful Chilean Lakes District. We will visit the Ojos de Caburgua or as they are called in English, “The Eyes of Caburgua” where the lake empties underground and the river flows out from seemingly nowhere. Our tour will lead us to the development of Cielos del Huife or Skies of Huife. Here we will tour a brand new development of approximately 120 homesites of 5000 square meters or about an acre and a quarter each. After viewing the Cielos del Huife we shall end up at Termas de Huife for a Chilean Asado lunch and a relaxing soak in the Termas or hot volcanic mineral pools. Huife has a restaurant and full dressing room facilities along with charming cabanas, so you certainly won’t be roughing it!
After a relaxing soak in the mineral waters of Huife we will take the bus back to Pucon a short distance away for another free evening in Pucon. Don’t forget to try a Pisco Sour, the national cocktail of Chile!
Day 7:
Breakfast at the hotel and then we board our private shuttle bus for a visit to Alto Los Riscos. Just a short distance from town, Los Riscos is one of Chile’s most exclusive vacation home areas. We liken Los Riscos to Lake Tahoe in Northern California/Nevada but without the snow and without the exorbitant prices of the Lake Tahoe area. In Winter, skiing is only a short distance away on the sides of the Volcano Villarrica. The Pucon area itself receives little to no snow. We will tour Los Riscos in the morning and then gather at an enchanting horse property development for another asado lunch at the beautiful home of another of our Chilean friends. Horse riding on a Chilean ranch is an option here and the Ranch Manager will have horses ready for anyone who wishes to take a ride.
The Asado is a traditional Chilean BBQ. In Chile the Asado is what seems like the National pastime. Simply put, it is an afternoon BBQ served with an ample supply of Chilean-style family and friendship. All weekend long almost anywhere you go, you will see and smell the aroma of wood ad BBQ-ed meats. Yes, many Asados are underway almost every weekend. The Chileans love their meats and fish so be prepared for a combination of delicious sausages, pork, lamb, chicken, salmon and beef.
After lunch we will tour a few more properties in the area and then will return you to your hotel in time for a bit of relaxation, perhaps some shopping in Pucon or ??? This will be a free evening.
Day 8:
Breakfast at the hotel and then free time in Pucon. Perhaps you will want to partake in one of the Pucon Adventures before your departure to Temuco and your flight back to Santiago. You can choose from any possible activity. Pucon has everything from spas to mountain climbing, from water sports orto hikes up the volcano. You may want to spend some more time strolling about town, swimming in the Lake or taking a coffee at one of the many sidewalk cafes. You can extend your stay in Pucon or perhaps add an extention Tour to Patagonia, the Argentina/Chile Lakes crossing or travel up North to the Atacama Desert Area. Since most departing flights from Santiago leave at night, you can either make your connecting flight back home or we will be happy to assist you in extending your stay in Chile. Don’t be surprised if you have made several new Chilean friends by this time and you may have a number of options available, which you never dreamed of before your Chilean Insider’s Tour. Maybe you will wish to stay and go sailing with us on Lago Villarrica!
